Competitive sports programs are offered for students in the 7th and 8th grades. Sports offered include:

Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Track, Soccer, Cross Country, Cheer, and Golf.

Academic Team and Quiz Bowl

Our academic team provides opportunities for students to represent Weatherford Middle School in a variety of events with competition against other schools in the state of Oklahoma. Students are tested in a variety of subjects and may earn a berth in the Tournament of Champions. Any student may compete for a position on the Academic Team or the Quiz Bowl Team.

National Junior Honor Society

The purpose of NJHS shall be to created enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, and develop character in the student. To be eligible for membership, the candidate must be a member of the 7th or 8th grade class. Candidates must have been in attendance at Weatherford for 1 semester, have a cumulative GOA of 3.6 starting with the 7th grade or upon enrollment at WMS>. Candidates shall then be evaluated on the basis of service, leadership, and character. installment of new members and officers is in the late Spring. New members will pay a one time fee of $20.

TSA

Tech Ed provides students with daily, hand on experiences, enabling them to develop technological literacy and explore career opportunities. Student experiences include robotics, electronics, lasers, animation, aerospace, and mass production. Activities capitalize on each individual's potential for reasoning and problem solving, imagining and creating, and for construction and critical thinking through the use of tools and materials related to technology.

Student Council

Student Council promotes school unity, school activities, and strives to improve student life. Students are elected by the student body each year. During Student Council elections, students are prohibited from from handing out campaign stickers of any kind. All campaign posters must be pre-approved by Administration or Sponsors.
