  • Highlight: everything you want to keep from your paragraph
  • Cross out: everything you want to delete from your paragraph
  • Sticky note: everything you want to change in your paragraph

Descriptive Writing Unit: Voice

  • Hand-out: Tone|Mood hand-out
    Assignment: Sticky note evidence of tone and mood language from your paragraph

Descriptive Writing Unit: Sentence Fluency

  • Hand-out: Dependent Clause Review
    Hand-out: Sub.Conj.+Rel.PN list
    Assignment: Sticky note 3 sentences from original paragraph to edit → begin with a DEP. CLAUSE

Descriptive Writing Unit: Sentence Fluency

  • Assignment: Sticky note 4 original sentences from paragraph to edit → begin with a PREP. PHRASE, INTERJECTION, TRANSITION, and ONOMATOPOEIA

Descriptive Writing Unit: Revise/ Edit

  • Hand-out: 6-Traits of Writing Checklist – Peer Review form
    Assignment: Students will review one of the six traits for a peer’s paragraph, then exchange notebooks until they have completed all of the six traits on six different paragraphs. 
  • Revise/Edit: Once students have completed the six trait peer review, they will get their notebooks and completed peer reviews back and can use the feedback to revise/edit their paragraph one more time before turning it in for a grade.
  • PARAGRAPHS DUE BY THE END OF THE HOUR!
